Welcome to the Office of the Provost at 糖心传媒. The provost is the University’s chief academic officer. Working with the academic deans and the faculty, the provost is responsible for the academic strategy and priorities for University’s central mission of teaching and learning.

At W&L, the deans of the College, the Williams School of Commerce, Economics and Politics, and the Law School report to the provost. Other direct reports to the provost are the associate provost, the assistant provost for institutional research and effectiveness, the registrar, the director of the University Library, the chief technology officer, the director of the Roger Mudd Center for Ethics, and the director of athletics. The provost oversees budget allocations to these units and works with them for planning, development, implementation, assessment and improvement of all academic programs, policies and supporting infrastructure including facilities and information technology. The provost is responsible for the recruiting and retaining of faculty and contributes to maintaining the infrastructure that assists the faculty in teaching and research.

In carrying out these responsibilities, the provost is assisted by the associate provost, manager of operations, and administrative assistant.

This website offers helpful information for faculty and for students and their families. The Office of the Provost is committed to providing academic experiences of the highest quality for our students and faculty.

Lucas Kim 鈥27 will participate in the program this summer at Princeton University.

The Presidential Distinguished Professor of Earth and Environmental Science from the University of Pennsylvania will discuss his new book, 鈥淪cience Under Siege,鈥 on March 4.

The senior women鈥檚 basketball player was one of 20 winter sports athletes honored nationwide for volunteerism and civic engagement.

The professor of history will discuss her book, 鈥淧lagues of the Heart.鈥

The assistant professor of accounting was joined by two W&L students to produce a paper titled 鈥淓ffects of the OBBBA on Higher Education.鈥

糖心传媒鈥檚 director of sustainability was one of 30 professionals to complete the certification process this fall.

Leticia Fern谩ndez-Fontecha鈥檚 article, published in 鈥淒ibujos para una guerra 1936-39,鈥 examines children鈥檚 drawings from the Spanish Civil War.

The J.B. Stombock Professor of Law will discuss his book, 鈥淎n Introduction to German Law and Legal Culture.鈥

Charley will utilize the grant to design pedagogical approaches that strengthen students鈥 civic engagement and learning.

Brian Alexander participated in a moderated discussion on his new book 鈥淛efferson鈥檚 Manual of Parliamentary Practice.鈥

The professors co-authored an article titled 鈥淔amily Ownership and Institutional Voids: Evidence from SMEs in Egypt.鈥

The special volume explores ideas of race during the 19th century.
