A native of Jamaica, Julian began to make a mark on the campus from the first day he arrived. His warmth and depth of relationships drew others to him and he shared his boundless energy and creative talents with everyone. While completing majors in Romance languages and music (composition), Julian performed in numerous musical groups (General Admission, Rockbridge Chamber Singers, Rockbridge Chorale, Joyful Noise Gospel Choir) and on the stage (Working, Metamorphoses, Pirates of Penzance, and Operatic Scenes of Love and Death, playing both the role of a messenger in La Traviata and as Sparafucille in the final act of Rigoletto). He led many of the organizations in which he participated and contributed his time as a volunteer in such places as Natural Bridge Juvenile Detention Center, Habitat for Humanity, Generals Christian Fellowship, the Multicultural Student Association, Up ‘til Dawn (cancer fundraiser), and the Student Association for International Learning (SAIL). He is also a Member of Pi Beta Sigma and has served as a resident adviser. Following graduation, Julian hopes to pursue graduate studies in vocal pedagogy and performance.
